Welcome to the Bloomfield Public Library

“Without libraries, what do we have?  We have no past and no future.” — Ray Bradbury

Book Talk at the Library

Bill and Mary Lewis, author of the Historical Travel Guides series Through the Heartland will talk about their travel adventures on U. S. 20 at the Bloomfield Public Library on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:00 pm.

What is the longest primary 2-lane highway in the US?
What is the oldest, and first designated national highway to cross the U.S.?
Our own U.S. route 20 that runs through Bloomfield as it makes its way 3,365 miles from coast to coast.

So far, the Lewis’ have published three books in this series including Massachusetts (vol 1), Eastern New York (vol. 2)  and

Western New York: Through the Heartland on U.S. 20

They will have copies of their books available for purchase and will do a book signing.

( If you can’t make it to the library on Tuesday, they will also be at the East Bloomfield Historical Society on Monday evening.)

Thank you Friends of the Library

Last week we held another very successful Book and Bake Sale at the library. The Bake Sale raised $660 and the BookSale $2832 to date.  Thank you to the many volunteers — about 50 people — who help pull this off each year. We couldn’t do it without you.

The Bag Sale Continues…..

We have lots of quality books left. We will continue a Bag Sale for another week or two while quantities last for $1.00 a bag.  We have a large quantity of adult fiction (both hard cover and paperback) and teen fiction; some non-fiction too.  Think summer vacation and beach reads!
